Gabions are made of the following two wire fabrics:
(1) Galvanized Hexagonal Wire Mesh Heavy Type: Made with high quality low-Carbon Steel wire to weave, steel wire tensile strength is 38kg/M2. The wire diameter may reach 2.0mm-4.0mm. The steel wire is usually galvanized. And the galvanizing layer thickness can be made according to the customer request. Max. galvanizing quantity can be 300g/ M2. (2) PVC Coated Hexagonal Wire Mesh Heavy Type: PVC coated hexagonal Mesh is made of pvc coated wire that offers longer service life and better anticorrosion property.
Gabions sizes: 2m x 1m x 1m, 3m x 1m x 1m, 4m x 1m x 1m, 2m x 1m x 0.5m, 4m x 1m x 0.5m. Custom orders available.
Finish can be hot-dipped galvanized, galvanized aluminum alloy or PVC coated, etc. Gabion net is a kind of hexagonal wire mesh that is made of steel wires. The size of wire is according to the different sizes of hexagonal net. For steel wire, The sizes from 2.0mm To 4.0mm can be adopted, and for PVC coated wire, The size from 3.0 To 4.5mm, will be used as a mesh wire, and the lacing wire is generally heavier than the mesh wire. The wire mesh used in Gabion Baskets production strictly conforms to EN10223-3 and gabions also meet the requirements of ASTM A975-97. All wires used in Gabion Baskets and lacing wire have the tensile strength of 350-500N/mm according to EN10223-3, 2 BS1052/80 and ASTM A641-97.
